World War Two Posters and Artwork
The poster illustrates a black tunic of the infamous SS. The SS-Verfugungstruppe (SS Special Action troops, usually called the SS-VT) was created in 1934 by Adolph Hitler to be a politically reliable alternative to the German military.
The SS-VT were separate from the Concentration Camp guard units. The SS-VT were specifically trained to be elite combat troops. Three regiments, or "Standartes" were created. They were named "Deutschland", "Germania", and "Der Fuhrer". These units would form the beginnings of the Waffen SS of World War 2 fame.
The tunic pictured in the poster is a black service tunic of an officer from the "Der Fuhrer" regiment of the SS-VT. The tunic includes a World War One Iron Cross, indicating that the officer was a combat veteran of the first world war. The illustrations on the poster are all designed to provoke a sense of the powerful symbolism and pageantry that surrounded Hitler and the SS.
The poster is 17" x 24" in size, and is printed on semi-gloss paper. note: I will not sell this poster to anyone in Germany, France or any country where Nazi symbols are forbidden by law.
